Good Presenters, David Berkeley is happily returning to the Folk Alliance and is looking to sing in your bedroom. He'll be accompanied by his banjo/trumpet playing sideman Mr. Jordan Katz. Based now in Santa Fe, NM, David is finishing his most ambitious project to date, a novella comprising 10 interweaving short stories and an album of 10 accompanying songs (1 for each story), featuring Sara Watkins on background vocals. This will be David's 6th album and 2nd book. He's been a guest on "This American Life," telling a hilarious tale of a most awkward serenade he was hired to perform (not entirely unlike some of the bedroom serenades bound to happen in February). He's toured with Don Mclean, Billy Bragg, Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds, Ray Lamontagne, Nickel Creek and may more. The San Francisco Chronicle called Berkeley "a musical poet," and The New York Times writes that "Berkeley sings in a lustrous voice with shades of Tim Buckley and Nick Drake...as his melodies ascend to become benedictions and consolations, the music shimmers and peals."
